Artist Statement:
In this piece, considering the open call’s theme, I aimed to explore the duality of heritage and the future. It’s an image of a Latina woman split into two halves: one half wears the golden mask of ancient civilizations, while the other transforms into a cybernetic vision. It’s a symbolic representation of ancestral knowledge being converted into modern technology and power. It also alludes to a culture that never fades, but rather adapts and heals itself, guiding us toward the future.
