Artist Statement:
“Arte Sana” honors the women who, with every thread, wove the memory, history, and strength of their communities. Each stitch not only embroidered color, but also resilience, care, and healing, turning art into an act of protection and transformation. These women taught us that art is not merely beauty, but a tool of life, capable of sustaining entire communities and passing wisdom from one generation to the next. Just as they transformed art, “Arte Sana” reminds us that the tools to heal and create are within us. By healing one, we heal all, and creativity becomes a thread that connects past and present, pain and hope, roots and future. This work seeks to show that art heals, connects, and fills us with color, and that every creative gesture is also an act of self-love, solidarity, and collective strength.
